In an Odense-based collaboration between Instafilm and artist Timur we created the music video for the song “Alt jeg forventede”. The narrative of the visual ties together with the story of the music, by showing the six different feelings of a breakup in six different settings.
The process of creating the video took a long time mainly focusing on location scouting and production design all functioning as an organic, cohesive brainstorm between the crew. The main approach to the creating of the production design was inventive and playful, following along the lines of wanting to create video with the abstract as the stylistic guiding principle based on turning particular stills and visual references into moving, living pictures conveying the entire internal arsenal of breakup feelings.
Unfamiliar props were developed and used in creating the right atmosphere for the video. For one scene a giant installment of shattered mirror concocted out of shards and fishing line and heisted several meters into the air, matching the mirroring effect with liquid color, and creating an explosion of enticing colors, creating a creative, perceptible experience of the visuals marrying the music.
