In collaboration with VisitOdense, we wanted to tell a story about our developing city, Odense. The city has been under construction for many years, and people have been overwhelmed by the noise and machines, not noticing the charming city, the kind people, and the beautiful surroundings.
Therefore, we focused on creating a branding film welcoming people back to Odense, to rekindle the old flame which got lost in all of the construction dust. The prominent feature of such a branding film, is creating a direct connection with the viewer – the city must be humanized, thus being done by linking the classic I want you back-love story to the city at hand through the speak. The speak consists of well chosen “It’s not me, it’s you”-cliches which constitutes a call to action paired with matching images from the city who is finally ready to receive the viewer with open arms.
Furthermore, we had to distill an entire city’s evolution down to the very essence of what Odense can offer, choosing the faces of the improved Odense and the pillars on which the evolution has been build. The visuals contains both shots of the stables of Odense, such as new structures etc., but furthermost the kind people of Odense, familiarizing the city and creating an end result of a city proudly welcoming you back.
